Abstract

|
The influence and toxicity of 1. 4, Bis-trichloromethyl benzoie (Hetol) were examined to´ the normal rabbits which were treated with 300mg/kg of Hetol per os for 5 days. After administration with Hetol, the rabbits were sacrificed and the histopathological examination of endocrine organs were observed.
Fatty change was noticed in the polygonal cells of liver and the kidney showed the minimal to slight degenerative changes of the tubular epithelium of the cortex and medulla. In the adrenalin, cortex was noticed focal hemorrhage and slight passive congestion but medulla was not remarkable any abnormality. The congestion and pigment containing macrophages were more marked than the control group in the spleen. The sperm forming cells were decreased and the seminiferous tubules were atrophied in the testis. Other endocrine organs, including ovary, pituitary gland and thyroid showed normal microscopic findings.
The body weights and the wet weight of endocrine organs showed no difference between treated and control rabbits.
